Edifício Farol

One corner, two looks

The building presents itself as the articulation of two volumes, based on a transparent commercial base, relating two distinct fronts, defining the corner and taking advantage of the privileged implantation, in the confrontation with Largo do Farol and the proximity of the sea.

The two bodies appear as complementary elements that propose opposing images for divergent quadrants: for the north it is important to enlarge the light, looking for the tangent view to the sea. Glass bubbles lurk from the ocean to the west. For the Avenue, it seeks to ensure privacy. Balanced balconies hide the interior from the hustle and bustle to the spring.

The typologies are summerlike, short as the vacations.

The material is intended to be more perennial and anchored. In the confrontation between thikness and voids, between glass to the north and brick to the east, the aim is to soften the intense light near the Atlantic.
